Initially, the gas pipeline had a
transportation capacity for 11 MMm3/day. Afterwards, during
2004, with the Villa Montes Compression Station launching,
the capacity was increased until 17.6 MMm3/day, currently
this whole capacity is under a “take or pay” kind of
contract.
On 21st April 2005 favorable operative conditions allowed to
reach a transportation capacity record of 18.4 MMm3/day
delivered at Río Grande Compression Plant. In this context,
the GASYRG installed capacity usage has been increased,
locating Transierra as the most important role player for
the transportation of the gas exported to Brazil,
participating in almost 70% of the gas exported through the
GSA.
The GASYRG pipeline was designed to transport up to 34 MMm3/day
of natural gas. In order to reach this capacity, it requires
the installation of 3 additional compression stations to the
one of Villa Montes currently operating.
The GASYRG pipeline currently has one compression station,
the Villa Montes ECOMP. This compression station has two
Solar compressors, model Taurus 70, each one with a nominal
power of 10,300 HP moving compressors model C402. |
