Since the beginning of its activities,
Transierra has been developing a Management Policy based
upon Social Accountability, working actively to contribute
to the improvement of life quality in the communities
located in the influence area of the GASYRG.
In this sense, as part of its social policy, Transierra is
executing the Social Action Plan (PAS in Spanish) through
the implementation of infrastructure projects (houses,
schools, electric energy, drainage and sanitary sewerage),
production improvement projects (agriculture, cattle, water
supply, multi-sport fields, sanitary posts, etc.) These
projects are selected based on short, middle and long term
institutional programs, sustained on joined planning with
the Guaraní and Weenhayek people, local governments of
Yacuiba, Villamontes, Macharetí, Boyuibe, Charagua and
Cabezas; and socially representative institutions.
Additionally, on July 14th 2005, Transierra subscribed a
Backup Arrangement for the implementation of a Guarani
People Development Plan for seven Capitanías and its
National Assembly, both the assembly and the seven
Capitanías were benefited. Afterwards, on 5th May 2006,
Transierra subscribed a Backup Arrangement for the
implementation of a Weenhayek People Development Plan for
Orcaweta. These arrangements objective is to assign economic
resources from Transierra, for a 20 year period, for the
implementation of two Backup Programs for the Development
Plan for the Guarani people and for the Development Plan for
the Weenhayek People in behalf of ORCAWETA (PA-PDW in
Spanish), to promote the Integer Sustainable Development and
Strengthening of indigenous organizations and communities,
boosting up the care and preservation of the Environment and
the ecosystems, through the execution of diverse programs
and projects.
These initiatives have allowed Transierra to strengthen its
links with institutions, organizations and communities in
general, showing a positive image to the region and the
country, succeeding to consolidate the real backup to the
development in a united, transparent and sustainable way,
contributing to the improvement of the influence area
communities’ life quality.
